Eye Conditions We Diagnose and Treat
At Lake View Eye Clinic, we diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions. Our comprehensive eye examinations can detect problems early, when treatment is most effective.
Common Eye Conditions
Conditions we regularly diagnose and manage at our clinic
Glaucoma
Glaucoma damages the optic nerve, often due to high eye pressure. Early detection through regular eye exams and visual field testing is essential, as vision loss from glaucoma cannot be reversed.
Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetes can damage the blood vessels in the retina, leading to vision problems. Regular screening with OCT and fundus examination helps detect changes early. Laser treatment can prevent progression.
Cataracts
A cataract is clouding of the eye's natural lens, causing blurred or dim vision. While surgery is the only treatment, we can monitor progression and refer for surgery when appropriate.
Macular Degeneration
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) affects central vision. OCT scanning helps detect early changes in the macula and monitor disease progression for timely intervention.
Refractive Errors
Myopia (short-sightedness), hyperopia (long-sightedness), astigmatism, and presbyopia affect how clearly you see. Accurate refraction and the right prescription glasses can correct these conditions.
Retinal Detachment
When the retina separates from the back of the eye, urgent treatment is needed to prevent permanent vision loss. Warning signs include sudden floaters, flashes of light, or a shadow in your vision.
